ServMall ("ServMall", "we", "us") runs an online marketplace at servmallng.com and the ServMall customer and ServMall Vendor mobile apps. We connect customers with independent artisans — currently hairdressing, fashion designing and catering — in Nigeria.
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to the website and both apps. By creating an account or using ServMall you confirm that you have read it. Last updated: 9 October 2026.
We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and related regulations.
Account details. Name, email address, phone number, password (stored only in encrypted form), profile photo, and your sign-in method, including Google sign-in where you choose it.
Booking and service details. Services you book or offer, dates and times, job descriptions, prices, ratings and reviews, and the addresses you save for service visits.
Location. With your permission, your device's approximate or precise location, used to show nearby artisans, set your service address and help artisans find you. You can turn this off in your device settings.
Photos, files and messages. Images you upload (for example a profile picture or a reference photo for a job) and messages and attachments you send through in-app chat with the other party to a booking.
Payments and wallet. Your wallet balance and transaction history, payment method used for each booking (wallet, cash or bank transfer), and, for artisans, bank account details for payouts. We do not store your card number. Your wallet PIN is stored only in hashed form.
Artisan verification. Artisans on ServMall Vendor provide identity and verification documents, their service area and bank details so that we can verify them before they can accept jobs.
Device and usage data. Device model, operating system, app version, a push-notification token, crash and diagnostic data, and how you use the service.
You can browse parts of the site without an account. Creating an account, booking and being paid require the details above.
- to create and secure your account, and verify your phone number or email;
- to match customers with artisans, process bookings, enable chat, and send booking updates and reminders;
- to take, hold, release and record payments, calculate ServMall's service fee and pay artisans;
- to verify artisans, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the platform safe;
- to provide customer support and handle disputes, cancellations and refunds;
- to send service notifications by push, SMS and email (you can switch off non-essential ones);
- to maintain, test and improve ServMall, and to meet our legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, the need to perform our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and legal obligations, depending on the activity.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising in the apps.
The other party to a booking. A customer sees the artisan's name, photo, ratings and service details. An artisan sees the customer's name, service address, phone number and job details once a booking is made, so the work can be carried out.
Service providers that process data for us:
- Google Firebase (authentication, push notifications, cloud database and file storage);
- Google Maps Platform (maps, address search and geocoding);
- our payment and banking partners, who process wallet funding by bank transfer and artisan payouts;
- SMS and email delivery providers;
- our hosting provider.
These providers may only use your data to provide their service to us.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information to authorities, courts or professional advisers where the law requires it or to protect the rights, safety and property of users and ServMall.
Business changes. If ServMall is merged with or acquired by another business, your data may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.
We keep account data while your account is open. After you delete your account we remove or anonymise your personal data, except records we must keep for legal, tax, fraud-prevention and dispute purposes (for example booking and payment records), which we hold only as long as necessary.
Data is sent over encrypted connections and held on access-controlled servers. Passwords and wallet PINs are hashed, and the wallet PIN locks after repeated wrong attempts. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and never share your PIN or one-time codes.
Some of our service providers are located outside Nigeria. Where data is transferred abroad we take steps to make sure it stays protected.
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, restrict or object to some uses, withdraw consent, or delete it. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Deleting your account. In the ServMall customer app go to Profile and choose Delete Account. You can also email support@servmallng.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it; we will confirm the request and complete it within 30 days. Pending bookings or wallet balances must be settled first.
You can change notification, location, camera and photo permissions at any time in your device settings.
ServMall is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the service changes. When we make a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
